Support available to seafarers and their families affected by maritime piracy

This document, compiled in 2015, provides listings of organisations that are, in varying ways, involved with piracy-response. Some of these organisations are able to provide financial, health, welfare and other forms of assistance to seafarers and their families who have been affected by piracy. Other organisations listed are active ʻbehind the scenesʼ – monitoring piracy, advocating on behalf of piracy victims, advancing shipping companiesʼ ʻbest practiceʼ, and so on. The listings are intended to be a resource for seafarers and their families, whether looking for help or wanting to know more about maritime piracy. The listings may also be of interest to seafarer welfare organisations, shipping companies, trade unions, governments, and others.
